I was considering the monumental amounts of energy it takes for a human being to exist, live, cope, and survive in a 24 hour day. For me personally, night time isn’t even all that restful because I am a crazy, overactive dreamer; I often wake up tired from running around all night in my dreams. We have families to take care of, relationships, perhaps a job and property to maintain, traffic and other daily affairs that make us interact with (often rude) strangers. We have meals to prepare and sometimes pets to care for; oh yeah, and all the emotional baggage we carry with us from our past. We are busy, distracted, and overextended. Maintaining a healthy and happy outlook in the face of all this is incredible; yet I believe that we has human beings have a longing to change. Though we may not admit it, we think that we aren’t doing things right and could do better. You are not alone. If you spend one ounce of your energy to move in that direction, in my opinion, you’re a rare person. It takes effort. And we must feel that it is worth it to attempt it. Never give up because you are not alone.
By the way, I had a conversation with a friend the other day and this person was telling me how they feel inadequate and how they have to fight the feeling that they are not living up to the standards that others have imposed on them. Basically, this person had been brainwashed to behave in a manner that suited the person that at one time had authority over them; their own identity was lost. I shared with my friend, something that someone once shared with me. You are perfect just as you are. God made you the way you are for a reason, and God doesn’t make mistakes. Just because you do things differently from others doesn’t make you wrong, it makes you unique. I believe that we never really change the core of who we are; we only make alterations—slight adjustments, hopefully in a positive direction. Don’t waste your time trying to change who you are, learn to love a appreciate what makes you, you. Work on improving the weak areas of your life and being a positive role model for others.
God speed!

Before I comment any further, I want to mention that my resources for my thoughts and quotes from the previous blog, “The Question of God” came from the Bible, obviously, and the book “A Marvelous Work and a Wonder” by LeGrand Richards. I meant to include that at the end of my comment and then forgot when I became rushed to get it posted before I had to leave for an appointment.
We do tend to get caught up in the daily grind of life which can sometimes overwhelm us, but only if we are trying to do it on our own. I find myself getting anxious over important, and sometimes not so important, things in my life and I am often reminded by that still small voice of the Holy Spirit that I forgot to leave it in God’s hands. When I turn everything in my life over to my Heavenly Father then I get this peaceful reassurance that everything will work out okay, even if it isn’t the way I think it should work out. Always remember, His will, not ours, be done. When we try to control the outcome of something instead of letting God lead us and guide us, then God steps back from us and we are often left to ourselves and the impending worries and outcomes. With God all things are possible and you never have to worry when you know that He is in charge.
It is wise to include God in all areas of our lives even if it may seem too trivial to us. Using myself as an example, I may have a job interview soon and when I choose what I will wear that day, I am going to turn to God. Sound ridiculous? Not really. I desperately need a job and what I wear to the interview may have something to do with whether I make a good enough impression to get the job. Of course, I will dress professionally, but what if I wear a color that the interviewer hates. The interviewer may not give me the job because he/she dislikes what I wear, albeit on a subconscious level. Have you ever said “there is just something about that person that I don’t like, but I can’t quite put my finger on it”? God knows what the interviewer likes and dislikes already and also knows what color would be best for me. God doesn’t care what color I wear, and it is not important to my eternal salvation, but He knows that it could make a difference in my necessary prosperity when dealing with another human being, and thus He helps to bring that blessing of prosperity to my life through small means. Of course, that doesn’t mean it will cinch that particular job for me, but it strengthens my ability to ask for and follow His guidance in my life so that when the job, or anything else, that is meant for me by Him comes along, I will already be receptive to His promptings. Don’t do anything in your life without consulting God first. And when you feel those promptings, listen to them. Leave all of your cares in His hands and you will sleep peacefully. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
